A skin care routine as a busy mom can often feel daunting and time consuming. When you’re busy or overwhelmed it’s easy to put yourself last. When you wake up in the morning, your day is likely immediately consumed by caring for others. By the end of the day, you are likely exhausted from all you have done. When I became a mom, I was so sleep deprived. My basic needs were rarely met, and self-care was simply a phrase for something I no longer had energy to grasp the concept of. Now that my kids are a little older and mostly sleep through the night, I’ve realized how simple self-care can actually be and how vital it is to being your best self.

One simple concept of self-care I’ve implemented and have come to look forward to is my skin care routine. While I’m a less sleep deprived mom, I’m still very busy and tired by the end of the day. So, the concept of a skin care routine has always been a bit daunting. If you’re like me and think you don’t have the time or energy for this, then the post is for you. I’ve found some simple, affordable, and amazing products that have allowed me to step up my skin care routine without it becoming a ten-step process or another thing on the never-ending mom “to-do” list.

1. Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid serums are a game changer for a quick, beneficial skin care routine. It has many benefits moms could definitely use. These include providing hydration, reducing wrinkles and fine lines, and reducing redness and scarring. It is recommended to apply before moisturizing, one to two times per day. Since implementing this into my daily routine, my skin has become much healthier and more hydrated. I’ve also noticed a drastic reduction in redness. My top three hyaluronic acid serums are all excellent quality for their price!

2. Face Mask

Unfortunately finding a good face mask can take a lot of trial and error. Some are too sticky, or irritating on your skin, or smell horrible. This can be a frustrating and time-consuming addition to your skin care routine. However, the Dead Sea Mud Mask from New York Biology is none of these things. It goes on well and leaves my skin feeling cleansed and renewed. With its ingredients intended to minimize pores and tighten skin, it’s a great choice for hard working moms who need some rejuvenation.

3. Eye Masks

These are so easy and feel amazing. Simply put them on and leave them for a short amount of time. Here are my favorites.

Grace & Stella Energizing Eye Masks: A cooling eye mask, intended to reduce puffiness and dark circles, smooth fine lines, and increase hydration. For an added layer of self-care, put them on, sit back and enjoy a cup of coffee while listening to your favorite audiobook or podcast, and then remove the.

Grace & Stella Restoring Eye Masks: An overnight eye mask with retinol and hyaluronic acid, intended to reduce puffiness and fine lines, while rejuvenating and brightening your eyes to get rid of the “tired mom” look.

I hope you find something here that will bring you even an ounce of joy and energy to start your day and some relaxation after a busy day momming. Because self-care doesn’t have to be some big elaborate thing…sometimes it can be as simple as intentionally doing something small in your day that benefits you.
